gospel meeting

What is a gospel meeting?  It is an hour each week when the gospel is preached.  The word gospel means “good news” and the speakers at these services are here to tell our neighbourhood the “good news” that is found in the Bible.  I Corinthians 15:1, 3-4 says, “I declare unto you the gospel …how that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, He was buried and that He rose again the third day, according to the scriptures."

Because we are sinners and do wrong things or have wrong thoughts every day, we needed someone to pay for our sins.  Jesus, God’s son, the only one who never sinned, died on the cross to do just that. Isaiah 53:6 says, that on the cross, "The Lord (God) laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity (sin) of us all.

II Cor. 5:21 says that "He (Jesus) was made sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”

This message is vital information for mankind.  That’s why we have a gospel meeting. You see, Heaven is a clean place.  Revelation 21:27 says “There shall in no wise enter into it (Heaven) anything that defileth.”  However, by accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, we can have our sins forgiven and be assured that we will be in Heaven one day.

Paul said, in Acts 13:38, that “through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins.”

You will be warmly welcomed at the weekly gospel meeting.  The speakers will explain the “good news” that God has for mankind.  If you have any questions about how you can be sure of going to Heaven, those questions will be answered for you from the Word of God.
